Most of us are concerned about the state of the union, the state of the economy and the state of the housing market. But collectively, as Hoosiers, we need to ask ourselves -- "what is the state of our children?"
INDIANA'S KIDS CAN'T WAIT. That's why here, we've compiled resources for parents that need a hand, opportunities for people and organizations that want to help children in our state and a network of collaboration among community partners and securing the future of Indiana's kids.

2009 Child Abuse Prevention Month Kickoff
10 a.m. on April 2, 2009 at the Indiana State House
To help kick off the KIDS CAN'T WAIT campaign and inform the public on the state of Indiana's children, we gathered at the Indiana State House on April 3, 2008. Gov. Daniels was among the many attendees. 1001 blue pinwheels were planted on the grounds of the State House to represent the 87,000 live births of children in Indiana. The theme for the kick off event was “Cherish the Children.”
Gov. Mitch Daniels joined Prevent Child Abuse Indiana and other community leaders to launch the Kids Can't Wait campaign and celebrate Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Children marched to the Statehouse carrying a powerful message on behalf of all Hoosier children: "Protect Me."

A ceremony on April 3 kicked off a new effort to prevent child abuse in Indiana.
